Campaigns
The main campaigns in which SNUB are involved, are listed below. If you wish to oppose a different scheme, then please contact SNUB here, or via Facebook or Twitter. You can also view letters from local residents, Broadland District Council, MPs and SNUB members in the letters page, here.
Norwich Development
Are you aware of the scale of development planned for Norwich under the recently approved Joint Core Strategy? With over 10, 000 homes planned for the Broadland area alone, the area we take for granted now is soon to be lost forever if we do not take action now.
Northern Distributor Road (NDR)
Dubbed the 'Road to Nowhere', it is a proposed dual carriageway going around the North of Norwich, from Postwick around to Taverham, but not joining up with the A47.
Dakenham Project
The first success for SNUB! The Dakenham Project consisted of the demolition of two agricultural farm buildings, in order for the construction of two, supposedly green, business units. After reaching planning committee, councillors almost unanimously rejected it.
Norfolk Hub
Dubbed 'Disneyland of the Broads', this proposal could see the largest conference centre in the UK, consisting of over 8000 hotel rooms, 11 hotels, 2 golf courses, a dual carriageway link, lorry park, monorail, outdoor staging area and more, being built in the picturesque village of Salhouse. Imaging 11 hotels like that in Salhouse...

Rackheath 'Ecotown'
The proposed 'ecotown' has too many flaws to mention here, and consists initially of over 4000 homes being built on prime agricultural land, within a mile of the famous Norfolk Broad. This could raise to well over 10, 000.
Postwick Hub
The start of the proposed NDR, it consists of changing the Postwick Interchange, causing unnecessary travel for many hundreds of residents every day.
Belmore Park
The proposals include the demolition of the picturesque woodland between Thorpe End and Pound Lane, adjacent to both the Salhouse Road and Plumstead Road.
Brook Farm, Thorpe
This is the new proposal between Plumstead Road East in Thorpe and the A47 at Postwick junction. It includes employment, large development of new homes, as well as possible facilities, such as a rail station and turning Green Lane South into a foot, cycle and bridle path.
