About SNUB

SNUB (Stop Norwich UrBanisation) is a non-affiliated group of local residents of all ages, who have joined together to express our concerns about the creeping urbanisation of the City of Norwich, UK, under the auspices of the Greater Norwich Development Plan. We take our mandate directly from local citizens who have contacted us through public meetings, media coverage, on the web, or face-to-face conversations.
We do not represent any political party, and aim to present the facts that the councils do not.
We are opposed to the lack of democracy in local planning systems, and any attempts to circumvent due process.
SNUB is not against the building of additional houses, as long as it is proportionate, and due cognizance of the environment that is being built on, especially when the population is rising rapidly, and agricultural land is becoming ever-more important. SNUB is against the vast and unnecessary development of the local area, as proposed by Broadland District Council. Instead, SNUB proposes a dispersal method, whereby a small number of houses are built in the parishes, where necessary, based on the views of local residents, community groups, parish councils and Parish Plans for Development.
As we are a group of local residents, we actively seek other citizens to join our group, either as active or passive members. If you wish to find out more about SNUB, please contact us here.
